Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Festival is beaming live and direct to a sofa near you. Shows will be starting on Friday evening 30th April 2021 (International Jazz Day of course) and continuing through the afternoons and evenings of Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2nd May 2021.
As part of their programme of live streamed performances from the festival mainstage at the Grand in Clitheroe, Issie Barratt, Artistic Director of NYJC, will be leading online conversations to support young jazz musicians. At 7.10pm on Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2nd May, Issie will be joined by some of NYJC’s alumni already making big waves in the jazz world. They will be sharing hot tips for budding musicians on constructive practice and rehearsal time, finding your own musical voice and communicating to an audience. We’ll be looking at works by women composers that fit well for workshops, not forgetting elements of music such as rhythm and motif. All good foundations for a new year of music learning and participation.
Everyone is very welcome to tune in – the shows will go out on Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues YouTube Channel and Facebook.
