Since the very start of the pandemic, Wednesday at 6pm has become the time where NYJC hosts livestreamed conversations between multi-award winning Artistic Director, Issie Barratt and leading artists from across the scene to discuss their latest projects and share top tips for young musicians and their music leaders wanting to hone their skills and reach their true potential.
Learn about how you can study jazz at the weekly Saturday jazz programmes at the conservatoire’s junior jazz departments or NYJC’s vice president’s very own Julian Joseph Academy or the Purcell, Chethams & Wells Schools of Music. Hear about NYJC’s involvement @ this May’s Ribble Valley Jazz Festival or the roster of NYJC alumni and tutors now being championed by the incredible new label that’s already taking the scene by storm & meet two more of NYJC’s multi award winning summer school 2021 tutors, Jim Hart and Omar Puente
Recent interviewees joining NYJC’s Artistic Director include Tori Freestone and Sarah Matthews; Shirley Smart and Karen Street; Martin Speake and Alyson Cawley; Zoe Rahman and Nikki Yeoh; Mark and Michael Mondesir; Pete Churchill and Anita Wardell; Christine Jensen; Judith Robinson; plus NYJC alumni Laura Jurd, Alex Hitchcock, Tom Barford, Rosie Turton, Jas Kayser, Imogen Churchill, Skeltr, Will Glaser, Sam Watts, Asha Parkinson, Emma Rawicz and Will Barry.
