We have had an amazingly creative four months online doing the jazz thing on Microsoft Teams and Zoom – weekly two hour sessions with our regional participants, to the new music of this year’s Creative Leadership Ensemble — who a week after their first day together premiered a programme of new work at the South Bank Centre’s WOW Festival then another week later were working together online in-lockdown — and this year’s wonderful team of trainee Ambassador Tutors (including four NYJC Alumni) all destined to be NYJC’s next cohort of creative music leader.

Bravo to NYJC’s amazing Executive Artistic Director Issie Barratt and Programme Manager Nick Brown for managing the shift so quickly and to all the faculty tutors, young musicians and their families for diving onboard and getting down with it. We’ve had a fabulous time taking our programme online and continuing the NYJC magic.
