A huge thank you to the 63 stellar young musicians that joined NYJC’s 2020 online summer school and our incredible team of teaching artists including Emmy Award winner TV composer Michael Price; two BBC R4 power-listers – engineer and producer Olga Fitzroy, and NYJC multi award winning Artistic Director Issie Barratt – and members of NYJC’s stellar faculty of teaching artists – Alyson Cawley, Byron Wallen, Jason Yarde, Jeremy Price, Jessica Radcliffe, Kathy Dyson, Malcolm Earle Smith, Mark Hodgson, Matt Holborn, Mick Foster, Rowland Sutherland, Tim Giles & NYJC alumni Sam Watts and Ralph Wyld, NYJC’s incredible Programme Manager – Nick Brown, our amazing team of online facilitators – Claire Sivier, Daisy Houlder, David Ferris, Harry Brain, Henry Leggins, James Romaine, Martha Littlehales, Tina Baston & Vijay Patel and wondered interviewees who joined us for 5pm conversations including; Julian and James Joseph, Michael Price and Olga Fitzroy; Ros Rigby, Sebastian Scotney and Ribble Valley Jazz Festival; Digby Fairweather, Mick Foster and Dr D Heining; Malcolm Edmonstone, Paula Gardiner, Tommy Smith, Kathy Dyson and Jamil Sheriff.

Everyone’s immense contribution made such a creative and inspirational week possible. We were thrilled to score our usual 90+% in the evaluation feedback and very moved by everyone’s appreciation of our going ahead with hosting it online.

As with every year the three most favourite things were meeting and working with likeminded young musicians, working with such an amazing team of tutors and the programme of repertoire chosen. Hurrah for NYJC!!
