NYJC Summer School 2017 Closing Concert

Group 4

Since 2007 NYJC has been uncovering England’s finest young jazz talent, selecting up to 45 of the nation’s most talented and gifted young jazz musicians to take part in an extraordinary week of world class tutoring and non-stop creativity.

The results are always stunning and this year’s concert will be no exception. Five combos of extraordinarily gifted 14-18 year olds take to the stage with new-found confidence, agility and enthusiasm to share in a celebratory programme drawing on the last 100 years of our nation’s unique and vibrant jazz scene.

Dave presentationHosted by NYJC’s visionary Founder and Artistic Director, Issie Barratt, who has steered the organisation from its first pilot summer school of 2007 to becoming a fully-fledged Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in 2015 – tirelessly serving young people across the nation. Issie will be joined by our President Dave Holland and NYJC’s outstanding team of tutors (all of whom are playing in this evening’s All Star concert).

This performance will undoubtedly show how NYJC continues to play a formative role in shaping the future of jazz in the UK.

Due to limited capacity and a need to guarantee seats for the young performers’ families, a limited number of (free) seats are available to this concert on a first come first served basis. REGISTER HERE
