2026 Summer Programme

NYJC’s Summer Programme brings together the nation’s most gifted and talented young composers and songwriters, vocalists and instrumentalists of all styles, traditions and instruments who are keen to extend their interactive improvisation and compositional skills – developing a professional level of ability and confidence through an exciting and eclectic programme of improvised music, supported by the nation’s leading teaching artists.

The 2026 Summer Programme will take place at Benenden School, Kent and consists of four amazing courses: Composition Summer School, Vocal Jazz Camp, Improvisers’ Summer School, and Feeder Short Course.

Participants for the Improvisers’ Summer School, Vocal Jazz Camp, and Feeder Short Course are selected via audition during our 15-day national audition tour.

NYJC also offers free taster workshops in each region during the national audition tour, and a free taster day during the summer programme.
