NYJC’s MEGA GIG @ EFG London Jazz Festival @ 16:30 – 17:15 on Sunday 16th November at the Clore Ballroom, Royal Festival Hall

The National Youth Jazz Collective (NYJC) proudly presents a vibrant and highly inventive programme of contemporary improvised music performed by a dectet comprising ten of the nation’s most gifted and talented young jazz musicians aged 14 -18 (hand picked from 2014’s highly competitive National Youth Jazz Collective’s Summer School), including five members of NYJC’s inspirational Creative Leadership Ensemble (CLE) and three of the five finalists of 2014’s inaugural BBC Young Musician of the Year’s jazz award (including the winner, Alexander Bone) . We are also very excited to welcome Jessica Mistry, special guest Indian flautist from SAMYO (South Asian Music Youth Orchestra), who will be joining the dectet for this performance. Repertoire will include works by young composers from CLE generating a level of groove based improvisation that will take your breath away!
