Dee Byrne, our fabulous virtuoso sax playing Programme Manager, is moving on from NYJC in the new year 2017.
Dee – known to many as ‘the one who makes it all happen’ – has been with us nearly three years now but before that was one of NYJC’s Ambassadors (post-graduate jazz musicians who learn the ropes in jazz education NYJC style). She has managed to spin the plates at NYJC whilst running her own record label and gigging band Entropi – ‘no mean feat’ we hear you say. Beloved of our young Summer School musicians and tutors alike (here she is receiving the flowers at 2016’s final concert) we have to let her go… but not before recording a huge vote of thanks from all involved with NYJC, more of which will likely follow in February when she finally clears off, becoming too famous to ever talk to us again.
Thanks Dee – you’re a gem!!
If you know anyone who would love to come and work with us in a very similar way – please have a look here and Pass it On!!
